In the few short months since its grand opening, the new student center has already hosted a US Congressional event, a series of Reebok/NFL commercials featuring players from the NY Jets (see previous post), a comedian from the popular TV show, The Last Comic Standing and a New Student Convocation.
But it isn't just the large events that have made the student center truly the center of campus activity. It's where the everyday routines of students take place, from exercising in the state-of-the-art fitness center, to meeting classmates for lunch in the dining marketplace, to shopping for Curry gear in the expanded clothing line in the new bookstore.
So if you haven't been to campus lately, I suggest you plan your visit today! But don't be surprised if your campus tour passes through an impromptu club meeting in the fireplace lounge or gets caught in the cheers of a long running New England sports rivalry in the sports cafe. It's just another day in the Curry College Student Center.

Reebok Films NFL Commercials on Campus
As previously reported, there has been much excitement around the opening of the new student center this summer. It's hard not to notice the stunning new facade that dominates the center of our lush campus. Most recently, the new facility caught the eye of Reebok. They chose our campus as the site to film a series of NFL commercials featuring players from the NY Jets. The dining marketplace, the locker rooms, and the southern exterior of the building served as backdrops in the commercials. So go ahead and take a look at the spots dubbed, "The Lighter Side of Training Camp." Personally, I think they are hilarious.

Change is Good
Despite having experienced one of the rainiest Junes on record, our campus has remained busy. New and returning students will undoubtedly notice that the Drapkin Student Center has been removed. In its place – a stunning view of the new student center and an markedly larger Westhaver Park. Personally, my favorite part of the new student center is the new dining marketplace. I give the food five stars and am sure it would receive a high Zagat rating. Don't believe me? Come and check it out for yourself!

For those of you who made it out to Accepted Student Day this past Saturday, I hope you had a great time - I know I did! It was great to meet so many of the students I have been communicating with over the past few months. Here is a photo of Colonel mingling with some of the students who were handing out Curry College t-shirts at the activities fair.
